Ear Piercings At Piercingmania.co.uk
Ear piercings come in many types and shapes. The ear offers numerous possibilities when it comes to body jewellery. With so many possibilities and choices at hand it becomes quite a hassle to find a neat overview of ear piercings. Piercing Mania used to offer the same system of searching as other webshops, by piercing category, scattered all over the website. Until now, because Piercing Mania is introducing its new ear piercing category which offers a clean, neat overview of all relevant ear piercing types.
Ear piercings, a bit much
ear piercings really do come in a very wide variety. Especially the ear tunnels, plugs and stretchers make that the ear piercing category kept growing over the last few years. We at Piercing Mania believe that there is a need for an complete overview of ear piercings that is clean, neat and relevant. Without ear tunnels, plugs and stretchers but which includes the many other ear piercings such as; tragus piercings, helix piercings, ball closure rings, labret piercings and others.
That's why we created a new category of piercings which shows all types of piercings that can be ...
... worn in the ear without showing the rather numerous amounts of ear tunnels, plugs and stretchers.
A tip when looking for new ear piercings
When looking for new ear piercings there are two things to take in account, length and thickness. The standard thickness of ear piercings is 1.2 mm. However, 1.6 mm is also an occurring size. Depending on the exact location on your ear and, more importantly, your piercer 1.6 mm can be the preferred thickness.
Therefore it is important that you know your current thickness and look for ear piercing with that same thickness.
Length on the other hand, despite that it is also important, is more forgiving than thickness. Tragus piercings come standard in 6 mm length as were labret piercings come in 8 mm. Despite this difference labret piercings have proven themselves rather comfortable ear piercings. This because each ear is different. A millimetre more or less on the length wont matter for far-out the most people.
When it comes to curved piercings like ball closure rings or curved barbells the length is even more forgiving because of its curves.
A labret as an ear piercing
As mentioned before labrets have proven themselves to be very comfortable ear piercings. There are however two things to take into consideration. The material choice and shape of the bottom of the labret. When made of steel they are either flat or slightly rounded. Depending on your personal preference one wears more comfortable than the other. Especially when sleeping and a certain amount of pressure is applied to the ear.
There are also labrets with a bottom made of acrylics or bio-flex. Because these materials are much softer than steel they are considered extra comfortable.
