Kebaya is the traditional clothing used by Indonesian women. Besides is wore by Indonesian women kebaya also is wore in Malaysia, Brunei, Burma, Singapore, and several places in Cambodia. There are many variation of kebaya not only Indonesia kebaya's that exists in this world. But there are also kebaya from other countries.
Kebaya is the national costume of Indonesia, especially for the Javanese, Sundanese and Balinese.
The origin of kebaya is actually derived from Arab, where the Kaba, which means they calls clothes. Name Kebaya was introduced by the Portuguese when they are in Indonesia.
In the year 1600, kebaya on Java island nation is only worn by aristocrats only, or can we call the nobles and the officials in the kingdom of Java.
