Nokia Here Is Back To Apple With Its Free Map Services
This is not the first time that Nokia has provided a mapping service to users. Its previous mapping services were called Ovi maps and Nokia Maps. However, they were meant for the devices created by Nokia only. However, the new HERE maps have been declared by Nokia to be an absolutely different version than its previous editions.
The Nokia HERE app for the iOS devices has been redesigned completely from scratch according to the company. The code of the app has been optimized to ensure perfect compatibility with iOS, the mobile operating system by Apple. Nokia had promised to bring the app to the iOS devices sometime in the year of 2015 and it seems that it has managed to keep that promise.
Users of devices from Apple had been waiting for Nokia to release their mapping app for iOS. After all, the app was already available for Windows 8 devices where it is now a permanent feature. It had also been released for Android last year. In fact, the app was received quite well by Android users. There has been over 4 million downloads of this app in Android. The HERE maps are now immediately available for all iOS devices.

... The HERE maps from Nokia are quite different from the similar services being offered by Apple and Google. Other mapping services such as Google Maps and Apple Maps need to stream the data for their maps before they can be displayed. On the other hand, you can download the maps to your devices so that they can become available.
Downloading the maps can be extremely helpful as they will not be available offline. You will no longer have to waste your cellular data on streaming the maps whenever you download them. This is all the more beneficial when you are travelling through a foreign country. It may be costlier for you to access the internet in those places. Moreover, it will become possible for you to access the maps faster as they will be preloaded and cached on your device.
Of course, there are other apps which offer the same type of services. However, their main problem is that they are paid apps. You will have to pay for getting these services. Nokia HERE is a completely free app, on the other hand.
Currently, it is possible to access the maps of around 100 countries with many of the major countries included. Some of those countries are the USA, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada, Brazil and Australia. Moreover, the maps can display the traffic information about those countries in real time.
The HERE mapping app from Nokia is one of the rare roadmap providers that is global in its breadth. It also has a long history of collaboration with automotive companies making the app one of the best in the world.
