Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers eng. Khalid Al Otaiby received in his office, the Acting Ambassador of Indonesia to the Kingdom Sunarko Suito, and the two sides discussed aspects of further cooperation to enhance the bilateral trade ties between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.

Eng. Al Otaiby started by noting the continued growth in Saudi-Indonesian economic relations, adding that concerned bodies on both sides should capitalize on the incentives and opportunities offered by both the countries. Al Otaiby pointed to the Saudi dates sector as one of the potential markets due to Indonesia possessing the largest Islamic demographic in the world.

For his part, the Indonesian Acting Ambassador expressed his delight in the growing ties between the two friendly countries, noting that their trade exchange volume is estimated to be at approximately USD 8.6 billion, USD 6.5 billion of which belongs to Saudi exports to Indonesia. The meeting touched on further subjects including activating the Saudi-Indonesian Business Council as a key step towards enhancing business relations, and encouraging Saudi businessmen to partake in Indonesia's Trade Exhibition.
