You can educate contractors and other customers about the benefits and features of different machines for their use on a construction site knowledgeably and practically.

Have you ever considered teaching as a career? Probably not, but despite what you may think, there are actually lots of opportunities out there if you look in the right places. Many universities are in need of experienced, knowledgeable construction professionals who have had years of hands ...

They will need knowledge regarding safety procedures and on the job etiquette to enhance their performance and a construction company’s reputation.

Maybe the hands-on work isn’t quite your thing anymore. This doesn’t mean you can’t still be one the job in a different capacity. Consider getting training or working your way up to a project manager position. This job would allow you to oversee the work being done on a construction project, however you would not have to do the physical, manual labor anymore. You would be in charge of making sure employees are working efficiently and safely on projects. You would also organize when different portions of a project are to be completed by staying in constant communication with the building architect as well as the customer so that things are done correctly and on par.

Maybe you no longer want to build the building, but you may want to be the vision behind it. Just because you don’t want to work in construction in a hand-on role, doesn’t mean your career is over. You can still stay in the industry in a new capacity by teaching others, selling bulldozers for sale, working as a project or construction manager, or even studying to become an architect. With your strong work ethic and skill set, the sky’s the limit.
