In a recent interview with TOPMexicoRealEstate, a couple who has recently received their single family lot in the Aldea Zama development in Tulum, comment on their satisfaction with the efficiency of the processes involved in buying their Aldea Zama lot. The couple, Linda and Mark, also comment on the small-town appeal that Tulum Real Estate had for them, and the contemporary-rust style they envision for their future home and life in Tulum.

TMRE: How do you feel now that you've received the unit? You purchased this about 2 years ago, right?

Linda: Yes. We had been to Tulum and we liked the area. We thought it would be a good investment and a place we would be interested in so we went ahead and purchased it. We're just now seeing it

TMRE: How was the process of purchasing this lot with this group, Aldea Zama?

Linda: Well they were very efficient, and they made it very easy to follow through on the closing. We arranged ...
... things ahead of time so when we got here everything was ready. They were always on time and as soon as we arrived we went down to sign the papers Everything was very simple, and efficient and easy. So we had a very good experience and no problems of any kind.

TMRE: So the communication was easy? E-mails, telephone calls?

Linda: Yes, they followed through very well on every single question that we had, and on getting all the information that they needed. So everything did go as planned. It was a very efficient process.

TMRE: Could you guys share with us - what were you looking for when you decided to go to Tulum?

Mark: Location, a place that wasn't over-developed yet. Maybe it was on a new track to something interesting and a place where we could potentially build a winter home in and enjoy the nice natural beauty down in that area. Hopefully a good investment. We liked the description of the development and thought it would have the kinds of things we'd be interested in.

TMRE: So, when you decided on Tulum Real Estate, what were the attractions?

Linda: The beaches, definitely, the nature and the fact that there are all the eco hotels down there. It's a very popular yoga area and I teach yoga. So, that was one of he things that interested me. And we just like the whole environment of that area. And we like the development because it offers people like us the comfort of being in a planned development - some services like the town center that they have planned and the close access to the beach, the roads, the sidewalks so that we could get back and forth easily.

TMRE: Now, this is a single family lot, so when do you plan to construct, when do you plan to construct?

Mark: We're not really sure when - that depends on our careers and when we think we get to a point when can take a few months off every winter; we don't want to build anything until we get near to that point because we're not looking at this to be a rental type of situation.

TMRE: Tulum is still a very small village, it still only has about 30, 000 people. Did that play any part in your decision to buy Tulum Real Estate?

Linda: Well, it didn't seem crowded and it was a little quieter; yet, it's still close enough to Playa del Carmen that you could come for the day and get some things that you possibly couldn't get in Tulum. So, it's nice that you do have a more quiet place, because we live in a big city.

TMRE: Washing D.C., right?

Linda: Yeah, so it's nice to have a place that's a little quieter and more laid-back, a less stressful environment. We live in a very stressful environment. So, to come down here and be close to a beach, and be in a quiet town is enjoyable for us.

TMRE: How long is the trip from Washington D.C. down to Cancun Airport?

Mark: It's a 3 hr plane flight

TMRE: That's a direct flight?

Linda: Direct flight. So it's easy travel to come down here, it doesn't take long at all. We come a couple times a year.

TMRE: Mark, you were telling me you do some fixing up projects back in the Washington D.C area. Do you plan to get involved in that down here in Mexico?

Mark: Not as a career, no. By the time we get down here I hope I don't have to do that anymore.

Linda: We can have a more retired lifestyle. More time for fun.

Mark: Other than, you know, small scale - there might be some involvement in this property for me, but it would probably be for finer details, and the design of it.

TMRE: Do you have any idea what type of architecture you want? How do you imagine your dream house?

Mark: We have a lot of different tastes.

Linda: A very natural garden with a pool.

Mark: We love stone. Stone and wood and

Linda: Rustic types of things.

Mark: We like the very clean, natural contemporary style that they do down here in Mexico Instead of the old colonial style. Modern, but rustic materials, used in a new way.

TMRE: Linda, you do yoga classes - do you have any plans to do anything down here in Mexico?

Linda: I don't know. I would probably be interested in pursuing that because that's something that's a life-long love, and you can't really give that up.

TMRE: What a perfect setting to be in Tulum with the cenotes and the ocean front.

Linda: It is, and I have many clients and friends who have come down here with me and we've done yoga classes just as a group together. So, I could see something like that continuing over the winters when we're down here, having friends visit, or doing Yoga retreats, that type of thing.
