The dual flush toilet is a wonderful and exciting invention. Because toilets are responsible for the waste of large amounts of water, the dual flush toilet can also be viewed as a new way to save water in the household. And, since saving water is integral to the global effort to reduce the effect of global warming, more and more people are switching to the dual flush toilet. The regular toilet flushing system which we have used for a long time may use up to three gallons of water for every flush. If you stop and think about it, that is a lot of water just going down the drain! We can now fix this problem with the help of the dual flush toilet which only uses about half of that quantity of water.

The way the dual flush toilet system works towards saving water is pretty simple. The dual flush toilet is a system which gives its users the means to choose between two types of flush: one for solids and one for liquids. The dual flush toilet system was born from the need for saving water as much as possible within the household. With ordinary toilet flushing systems the same quantity of water is used regardless of what type ...
... of waste we want to flush away. Now that we are presented with this great invention, the regular system seems like the main thing it was capable of was wasting a whole lot of water!

The dual flush toilet system had its imperfections in the beginning, due to erroneous operation of the short flush during a full-flush cycle, which caused the system not to deliver enough water to effectively remove the waste. Although these problems were not frequent, a few were enough to get users to switch back to their old systems. These are problems of the past, however, and the new and improved dual flush toilet system offers ease of use along with great results in regards to saving water. As opposed to the traditional toilet flush system that uses almost 4 gallons of water for every flush, the dual flush toilet only uses about one half of that. If you take into consideration that this system only uses less than a gallon for flushing fluids, then this is a great tool for saving water.
