With the growing competition in the online arena, it's very important for you as an article writer to produce articles that are extremely interesting. This is your best weapon to get online users to pay attention to your articles. Remember, the more your articles are read, the better.

Here's how you can make your articles downright interesting:

1. First, pick topics that are hot or considered important by your target audience. Perform a keyword research or if you have time, go ahead and conduct interviews to easily determine the actual needs and demands of your target readers. Although this will take some of your time, you can be assured that this will help you stay on track. I suggest that you talk about the problems and the burning questions of your readers. Then, share a slice of your expertise and offer them with answers and the best solutions. This includes choosing specific topics to write about. Don't even try to target broad topics on your articles. You wouldn't want to cover too much ground as this will surely confuse your readers. If you do this, there is no doubt that you'll be able to get people to ...
... really pay attention to your articles.

2. Use catchy titles. Your articles will be judged based on the titles that you're using. If these are too lousy, people will automatically assume that your content is lousy too. Don't let this happen so your open rate will not suffer. Ensure that your titles are powerful and catchy by using terms that can evoke action or those that can target the emotions or logic of your target audience. Keep it short, sweet, and keyword-rich. Also, ensure that it's unique and that it summarizes the content of your article.

3. Use conversational tone. Instead of sounding like a mad scientist, talk to your readers through your articles. Write the same way when you're having great conversation with your friends. It's okay to be upbeat and spontaneous. Inject humor and ask relevant questions. Empathize when needed and address your readers using "you" and "your". Also, use simple words and short sentences. Along with this use the simplest terms. Use those words that even a 10th grader can understand to make sure that your readers will easily get the message that you're trying to get across. It would help if you mingle with these people on forums or on expos. Then, pay attention to the words that they usually use. These are the terms that you should insert on your articles to easily build connection with your readers.

4. Share your personal stories. Sometimes loading your articles with information alone can make your content sound boring. To make them more interesting to read, I recommend that you share your personal stories that are related to your chosen topic. This will engage your readers on your content.

5. Use visuals. Whenever appropriate, use statistic, images, and illustrations on your articles. These can help in making your articles readable and in helping your audience visualize your ideas. Keep in mind that you can only do this if you're posting your articles on your website or blog. Most article directories accept text only type of articles.

6. Use active voice. There are so many reasons why you should go with active instead of passive voice. Aside from the fact that this can make your articles a bit shorter, it can also make your content sound more powerful and authoritative. This is what you really need to get your readers to quickly act on your favor.

7. Avoid redundancy. There is no need to repeat the information on different parts of your articles. Unlike when giving speeches, you can easily emphasize your major points by simply highlighting them.

8. Make it scan able. Make your articles readable and easy on the eyes by simply breaking them into smaller chunks. Instead of covering too much ground on each of your paragraphs, I recommend that you explain each of your major ideas using short paragraphs. This is not only to make your articles easier to understand but also to give your readers white blank spaces that are truly soothing on the eyes.

9. Review your articles. Your articles will become more interesting if they are flawless. So, ensure that you review and edit them (when needed) before you distribute them over the internet.
