Mobility scooter is one of the fabulous ways for an individual who has mobility which is limited to regain their senses of freedom and independence. There are various models and brands of mobility scooters. So you should choose the correct one which can serve your needs the best. This can be used only by persons who have some type of disability.

Features:

There are lots of features that are important which you should concentrate on, and buying an appropriate mobility scooter wholly depends on selecting the features that aptly suits the need of a buyer.

Wheels:

The scooters have three types of wheels that are; three, five or four in number. Among these the two wheels are always present in the rear side and the other wheels are present in the front. The later drive can be used for both the purposes either indoor or outdoor; they can handle weight up to 160kgs. Some drive models which are equipped with heavy duty can manage a weight up to 225kgs.

Seat:

The seat of this scooter can be either a seat which is small with a backrest padded or a seat that is larger with a headrest and a backrest. The former style is usually available in scooters which have mid-size and boot scooters and the other on the scooters which are available to drive on the roads. The seat usually helps the individual to get on and off the disability mobility scooters. Most of these seats are available with the adjustable options for height, while few seats can slide backward and forward. The seats that are larger can also provide backrest angels that are adjustable along with the heights of the headrest.

Controls:

The controls of these scooters are present in the handle bars. The operators of the device use the fingers and thumb to move it. On the right side usually the forward controls are present and on the left the reverse controls are present. There are also scooters which have reverse controls for users who are left handed.

Tiller:

The parts of a tiller are the handle bars and the controls, they are the front column in the scooters and usually adjustable angels are present. The adjustable mechanism may be of teeth that are flexible or slots. Few of the small device do not have tiller.

Brakes:

These scooters have brakes that are featured. The brake is kept on until you use the scooter to drive. If the driver loses the control then the brake re-engages. Lever is present in the scooter to put it to neutral.
