India is a vast country with a lot of people who are from different religions. Different religions mean different rituals. India is a country where most of people are from Hindu Religion. That is it’s another name is Hindustan. Hindu weddings are very much different from other weddings and lot of things happen in time of marriage. All the parts of marriage are not same in all Hindu Marriage as there are different cast and sub-casts among Hindus. Indian wedding ceremonies are traditionally conducted at least partially in Sanskrit, the language in which most holy Hindu ceremonies are conducted. The local language of the people involved is also used since most Hindus cannot understand Sanskrit. They have many rituals that have evolved since traditional times and differ in many ways from the modern western wedding ceremony and also among the different regions, families, and castes such as Rajput weddings and Ayer weddings. By the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955 passed by the Union Parliament of India dating, for all legal purposes, all Hindus ...
... of any caste, creed or sect, Sikh, Buddhists and Jains are considered as Hindus for the sake of the Hindu marriage Act — and can hence intermarry.
I am basically from a christen family. I have got an opportunity to witness a Hindu marriage when my friend Subho’s marriage took place in West Bengal. He belongs to a Bengali family. It was very interesting. It takes long three days to complete a wedding. First of all, in the morning a lot of things happen at the groom’s place. A priest does all the things. The groom goes to the bride’s home along with a lot of people who are basically relatives, neighbors and familiar persons in the evening. Actual marriage happens there. At first the groom is welcomed by sweet and milk by the mother in law. Then he is taken to the alter and given the wardrobes. Then the bride comes near the alter sitting on a birding tool which carries by some young person. They move round the groom seven times and the garland exchange happens. Nest they are taken to the alter again and the priest starts his work. He ties the bride’s and groom’s right hand together with a straw and chants mantra. At last the groom puts snider on the forehead of the bride with the help of the wedding ring. The main marriage is over now. The very next day the new bride is taken to her husband’s home. On the third Bou bhat (rice giving by the bride ceremony) takes place. A lot of people come to the that party along with the r relatives, neighbors of the bride. At night the new bride and groom are taken to a room decorated with flowers where the live ever after. Just as Hinduism is hard to grasp and contrast against the newer, book-defined, structured religions such as Christianity and Islam, Indians singles dating are also hard to categorize purely on a religious basis.
