A Letter From Santa Brings Hope And Happiness
As children Christmas meant a lot to us. It was a season of festivity and joy, parties and presents. Decorating the Christmas tree was something that every child loved when we were kids and it is still a much loved activity during the Christmas season. In places where it is cold in December which is in the Northern part of the Northern hemisphere, people go to the forests nearby and find a small Christmas tree that they bring home and plant in their garden or backyard or even place it in an ear then pot and bring it right inside their home and in the living room. It is then decorated with images, goodies and toys and glitter and the North Star is placed right on top as it is believed that Santa will see the star and come there.
Many children write letters to Santa with a long list of things that they want from Santa as gifts. A letter from Santa will make any child really happy and it will be a keepsake forever. Letters from Santa keep the hope in children alive and make them feel loved and wanted.
As a child everyone in the Christian world knows about the festival of Christmas and all the myth associated with ...
... it. Each child is on his or her best behavior as he believes that Santa is watching over him and noticing each and every thing about him. If he is good, he will be rewarded with gifts that he wants. He could also get a personal letter from Santa praising him if he has been good and scolding or reprimanding if he has been naughty. This myth has been perpetuated by parents and elders alike as this is the best psychological l ploy that they can employ to ensure that their child is on his best be havior.
A letter from Santa is also a beacon of hope for underprivileged and orphaned kids who do not have parents and family to look up to and expect gifts and things for Christmas. When the letter is addressed directly to the child and when his good behavior or good deeds are acknowledged in the letter, the child would be excited and happy. Not only will he try to do what is expected of him, he would also try his best in everything so that he remains on Santa’s list of favorite people.
Letters from Santa should therefore not be looked down as myth and foolhardiness that disappears when the angelic innocence of childhood reduces and finally vanishes but as one of the best ways to make a child happy and good. Letters from Santa may have been written by parents but are they not representatives of Santa for a child?
