If you are a DIY enthusiast or a general builder, then you could save a remarkable amount of money by choosing to protect your property by installing your own course (DPC) with the help of a Twistfix DPC Injection Kit. Our comprehensive collection of moisture control products is designed to ensure you have everything you need on hand to facilitate rapid, effective and lasting anti-damp work.
Damp-Cure rising damp cream is supplied in a low-cost 380ml tube. Inject a new chemical course along the base of the wall to stop rising damp.
The cream is injected directly into 12mm holes drilled in a mortar bed at regular intervals, preferably at perp-end joints, for an effective damp course treatment. Damp-Cure cream is formulated without thickening agents, using an emulsification process to deliver a 100% active cream at trade prices.
Solid walls can be drilled and injected from the most convenient side. The inner and outer skins of a cavity wall should be treated independently of each other, drilling and injecting the both sides of the wall to form a chemical DPC in each. Renew damp plaster to complete the treatment.

Consumption rate - 115mm wall* 3.8m / tube of DIY DPC cream
Consumption rate - 230mm wall* 1.9m / tube of cream
*Approximation only - allows 5-10% wastage
No specialist equipment is required. To install the damp course cream you will need a 12mm drill bit and a heavy duty caulking gun.
Applying to an unprotected wall is essential, particularly during wet weather when rain soaks into the ground around the footings and causes potential for rising damp problems. DampCure chemical DPC cream is proven to be effective at preventing rising damp.
The Twistfix DIY Kit contains eight cartridges of professional-quality cream, enough to protect 15m of double skin wall or up to 30m of single-leaf wall. This cream has been specially formulated utilising a process of emulsification, which negates the need for problematic thickening agents and produces a siloxane/silane mixture that is 100% active, migrating immediately and deeply into masonry pores to form the effective chemical DPC barrier.
You should choose a chemical DPC system that is specifically designed to be introduced into the
mortar joints. The mortar presents the only continuous passage ascending up a wall through
which water is able to rise. Therefore a mortar bed joint is the only layer that can function as a
layer. Introducing a DPC into just each brick or block unit along a stretch of wall
will not stop the water rising through the joints between. In accordance with BS6576:2005 a
DPC should be sited at least 150mm above external ground level and internally beneath ground
floor joists, or close to the floor if solid. If the two are incompatible please phone our help line for
DIY or trade advice. Where a newly injected damp proof course is to finish additional injection
holes should be drilled vertically, up to a height of 1m in a zigzag pattern that follows the mortar
line, and the holes injected with DPC cream to form a vertical damp proof course that will stop
the transmission of damp from abutting walls.
