However, there are organisations which do not conduct verification on their employees later in their tenure.
While pre-employment screening is an effective tool to mitigate workplace violence, employee theft, and negligent hiring liability, it is just a snapshot in time. There are situations wherein an honest and efficient employee may involve in any wrong doing or drug addict later in his tenure. An honest employee before can also involve in some serious scandals. These calls the importance of substance abuse testing which is one of the most crucial checks needs to be done while doing re-screening of tenured employees.
Thus, by conducting the periodic background check of tenured employees, an organisation can safeguard the workplace against any financial and reputational threat or violence. Keeping the background check of the employee extended, an organisation can get rid of unnecessary legal hassles.
