Well, maybe I was exaggerating a little bit with the title, but I've certainly been a starving musician in every sense of the word at one time or another craving free songwriting tips! Luckily, I made it through the tough times and eventually landed a songwriting deal with Warner/Chappell Music!

I believe the single, biggest reason I eventually found success was because I stayed focused on what I needed to improve upon in songwriting, and I found the answer no matter how difficult, most every single time.

Oh, by the way, here are the free songwriting tips as promised:

1. To learn songwriting you have to be dedicated and persistent. Don't give up if you can't figure out the difference between a pre-chorus and a verse, or if you continually get stuck while writing the chorus, find the answer! There are many songwriting websites, including SongwriterAdvisor.com, that can shed light on virtually any songwriting question imaginable.

2. It's best to have a songwriting resource book always handy such as The Craft Of Lyric Writing by Sheila Davis or Writing Music For Hit Songs by Jai Josefs. That way, if ...
... you need clarification on any songwriting principle or simply if you need some inspiration, you can lean on your songwriting bibles to do the trick!

3. If you want to learn songwriting quickly and efficiently, and you're in a position to hire a songwriting coach, by all means get one! Songwriting can be learned right away if you have the right teaching materials. If you're like 99% of the population who can't afford a songwriting coach, the next best and logical thing to do is use one of the various songwriting courses available like Professional Songwriting Secrets or Superior Songwriting. Many successful pro songwriters have used such courses to put them on the fast track to success!

As with anyone who's had to endure trial and error, I must say I wish I had these songwriting tips at my disposal when I was starting out. It definitely would've saved me some time.
