Ram Debuts Promaster City In Tradesman And Wagon Models

Ram has something new and exciting for the 2015 model year, the Ram ProMaster City Tradesman and the Ram ProMaster City Wagon. This is their answer to the Chevrolet City Express, Ford Transit and Nissan NV200.

The ProMaster City workhorse has options available in two to five seat models for most business professionals that needs to transport staff and their materials. There will be six available configurations in the Tradesman model and two configurations with the Wagon.

The power behind the ProMaster City series will have a 2.4 liter inline Tigershark that will feature the MultiAir2 valve-actuation technology. This same engine comes with the Jeep Cherokee and the popular Dodge Dart. The nine-speed transmission and the Tigershark engine will boast 178 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft. of torque powering the front wheels.

The Ram ProMaster City Tradesman features a two-seat configuration while the Ram ProMaster City Wagon will carry up to five passengers. ... and will have a coil-sprung bi-link rear suspension system for ultimate driver comfort and ease of control. The wheelbase will measure a whopping 48.4-inch rear wheel span. The space that will be provided will accommodate fully loaded pallets up to 51.8 inches high. The panel walls feature side panels for ease of shelf and rack installation. The rear doors split at a 60/40 and the side doors slide open to 26 inches.

The passenger wagon features foldable third row when folded extends the interior space to six feet. In seat up position, the wagon will still have four feet cargo length.

Options will include GPS navigation, Uconnect Internet, a five-inch touch screen and a tow package. Tilt steering will be a standard feature. Other options include Mopar branded accessories, security, vehicle tracking systems, rear parking assistance and other electronics. Interior space options like cargo mats, roof racks, floor mats and cargo mats.

President and CEO of Ram Truck, Reid Bigland states: "Years ago, the selection of delivery and cargo vehicles was limited, and those offerings didn't focus on cost of ownership. Today, all of that has changed with the recent introduction of the full-size Ram ProMaster and the now the Ram ProMaster City."

The pricing and fuel economy statistics are not yet available. Ram will announce these soon. This ProMaster City will hit the market in late 2014 for the 2015 model year. Look for The Ram ProMaster City Tradesman and Ram ProMaster City Wagon, the new Ram workhorse line.
