The Obama administration just canceled plans for the placement of a missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Why was this system canceled? It was canceled because the Russians didn't like it.

The system would have been useful in protecting the U.S. and our allies from the Iranians and the Russians. The Russians don’t feel that America deserves to be able to defend itself, and the Obama administration agrees.

The message to our former allies in central Europe was loud and clear: You are on your own against the Russians.

Jon Kyl, the Senate Minority Whip, stated:

"The decision announced today by the administration is dangerous and short-sighted. Not only does this decision leave America vulnerable to the growing Iranian long-range missile threat, it also turns back the clock to the days of the Cold War, when Eastern Europe was considered the domain of Russia. This will be a bitter disappointment, indeed, even a warning to the people of Eastern Europe."

Obama's decision to not defend America is a gross dereliction of the duties he swore as President.

After ...
... decades of progress pushing back against Russian aggression in the region, the Obama administration has unilaterally surrendered to Russian demands.

Ask yourself this: Why would the Russians want the U.S. and her allies to be defenseless? The answer is obvious †and unpleasant.

And what did the Russians give us in return? Nothing. Obama has publicly admitted that the U.S. received nothing from the Russians in return for lowering our national defenses and abandoning our allies.

If Obama is telling the truth and the U.S. truly received no benefit from abandoning our allies and bending knee to our enemies, I wonder then, what Obama received personally from the Russians. No one gives away something this valuable for nothing. If the people of the United States received nothing for this, you can be certain that someone did. This is very reminiscent of Bill Clinton's trading American missile technology to the Communist Chinese in return for cash contributions to the Democratic Party.
