Sapphire Parts – A Wedge Of Technology

A women’s neck is the best place to find several precious jewels apart from the heart of the earth which is found by mining. The jewels are not solely used for the purpose of decorating but there are many other uses too. We can also find them useful in many commercial high end tools and can be made a part of today’s technology. There are many valuable materials on this earth like Ruby, Sapphire, Ceramic and optical glass. All these materials are used in the manufacture of balls and half balls. The balls that are made of sapphire are termed as sapphire balls. These are manufactured with the utmost care and attention. A small manufacturing defect can make them useless and so they are manufactured with great care using the most efficient technologies. We find this sapphire ball in most of the practical applications that come useful in our daily life. Some of such wide applications that make use of the sapphire balls are Ball check valves, Bar Code scanners, bearing applications, Fiber optic connectors etc.
The balls that are manufactured ...
... are to be done with great care since a small defect would make them totally useless and doesn’t serve the intended purpose. The size and the shape have to be totally perfect which is a dream. However certain tolerances can be allowed that doesn’t bring much difference in the output. But all the manufactured balls have to meet the AFBMA standards. All jewels manufactured undergo these criteria and are accepted to use only when they meet this criteria. Any deviation from the mentioned criteria or above the tolerance value is not accepted and is totally rejected. There are many sapphire parts out of which sapphire balls play a major role in Fiber Optic communication. They are used as connectors that prevent the losses of transmission between two optical fibers that are coupled. By this the long distance transmission of data through optical fibers are made much efficient and reliable.
Some other important things that are made of sapphire are the Windows, jewels, tubes, nozzles and rods. As they are made of sapphire, they are termed as Sapphire Windows, Sapphire jewels, Sapphire Tubes, Sapphire Nozzles and Sapphire Rods respectively. The sapphire windows are used when we require the properties like high transmission bandwidth, chemical inertness, temperature resistance, high technical strength, wear resistance etc. Scratch free windows of ultra-low thickness can also be manufactured with sapphire windows.
