CAT PRODUCT for Fleas etc

Fleas are a constant threat for your cats, especially if it is allowed to move outside, or if it is an outdoor cat. Topical flea control products are used to tackle this problem. This product works by affecting the nerve receptors of the flea. They are usually applied on the back of the cat's neck. These products are relatively safe, effective.

Certain natural flea control products are also available, which are considered safe for cats and kitten above 6 weeks of age. Applying this product every 2 months can help. A brand with Selamectin not only kills fleas but also tick and has an effect on ear mites. It stays in the bloodstream and should only be used on kittens above 6 wks of age. Since it is a systemic product, may cause allergic reactions in some cats.

Shampoos made from SD alcohol, soybean oil, neem oil, lemongrass, catnip, and citronella help to keep fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, flies and other insects away from your cat. These are available as shampoos and sprays. For sprays, just spray your cat's for thoroughly including its legs and tummy. Avoid spraying on face.

Just ...
... take care in using anti flea products as they may be toxic to some cats, these products sometimes cause tremors in the cat, which can lead to a stroke and death in just a few hours. OTC products can cause a lot of trouble sometimes in your cats,
causing tremors, seizures, and ataxia (difficulty walking) in your cats. Especially premethrin is a villain; it is an ingredient that is very toxic. Take every care to check if the flea control you are using doesn't contain premethrin. This is an insecticide used in agriculture, home gardens and for mosquito control.

There are certain things to keep fleas at bay, which can help your cats free from fleas.

1. Comb the cat regularly. Using a flea comb, carefully comb throughout the entire body of the cat. Keep a jar filled with bleach nearby while you comb your cat. Just shake the flea collected comb into the jar and the fleas will die immediately.

2. Bathe the cat. Bathing the cat will remove the other fleas. Not necessary to use flea shampoo. Just a mild shampoo will do this job.

3. Apply topical cream to remove the fleas and your cat will be free of fleas.
