The new 2014 Cadillac ATS is proof that the brand has come a long way in the past decades, but the 2014 Mercedes Benz C250 is a formidable opponent with its wide array of safety features and additional features. There are plenty of things that both models have in common, but there are some substantial differences between the two which could be important in determining which model is right for you.
Both the Mercedes-Benz and the Cadillac received an overall safety rating of 5 stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (the NHTSA). In individual tests, the Cadillac scored 5 stars in frontal and side crash tests, and 4 stars in rollover tests; The Mercedes-Benz scored 5 stars in front and rear side crash tests, and 4 stars in front driver, front passenger, and rollover crash tests. The Mercedes-Benz does offers several optional safety features.

While both vehicles offer some of the same optional features, the optional interior features found in the Cadillac are voice recognition, HD radio, remote start, an auxiliary audio input jack, USB/iPod connection, a rearview camera, and heated front seats. For the Mercedes-Benz's exterior, drivers have the option of adding on either a panorama sunroof or a glass sunroof. While both vehicles have a plethora of features, the C250 has more luxury features.
The 2014 Cadillac doesn't offer any optional safety features, but the Mercedes-Benz offers a handful of them in addition to Parking Assist. Features like blind spot monitoring, LEX/HID/Xenon lights, intelligent high beams, a pre-collision safety system, OnStar and cornering lights. There's also an option to add paddle shifters onto the Mercedes-Benz. For audio, the 7 speaker Bose sound system equipped on the Cadillac can be upgraded to a 10 speaker system. While a 450-watt Harman Kardon sound system can be installed on the Mercedes Benz. Both vehicles live up to the hype of being quality luxury sedans.
