The new 2014 Cadillac ATS is proof that the brand has come a long way in the past decades, but the 2014 Mercedes Benz C250 is a formidable opponent with its wide array of safety features and additional features. There are plenty of things that both models have in common, but there are some substantial differences between the two which could be important in determining which model is right for you.


Both the Mercedes-Benz and the Cadillac received an overall safety rating of 5 stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (the NHTSA). In individual tests, the Cadillac scored 5 stars in frontal and side crash tests, and 4 stars in rollover tests; The Mercedes-Benz scored 5 stars in front and rear side crash tests, and 4 stars in front driver, front passenger, and rollover crash tests. The Mercedes-Benz received a good pick choice and was rated good in roof strength, rear crash, overall side crash, overall front crash, and was rated marginal in front small overlap.


When it comes to gas mileage the 2014 Cadillac ATS gets 22 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon ...

Standard interior features equipped on the 2014 Cadillac include; Cruise control, keyless entry, keyless ignition, satellite radio, power lumbar for the driver and passenger, leather upholstery, Bluetooth, 7 speaker Bose sound system, hands-free calling, dual-zone climate control, and power seats. Standard interior features equipped on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz include; A/C with climate control, compass, auxiliary audio input jack, auto-dimming rearview mirror, HD radio, leather upholstery, sport seats, power seats, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, USB/iPod connection, universal home remote, and hands-free calling.


Standard safety features equipped on the Cadillac include Engine Immobilizer, OnStar, rear door child safety locks, stability control, traction control, daytime running lights, rear center 3-point belt, child seat anchors (LATCH), heated exterior mirrors, driver and passenger seat airbags, side and curtain airbags, and tire pressure monitoring. Safety features are equally important on the Mercedes with standard safety features like active heat restraints, traction control, attention assist, tire pressure monitoring, Hill-start assistance, stability control, side and curtain airbags, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear center 3-point belt, child seat anchors (LATCH), heated exterior mirrors, driver and passenger seat airbags, and daytime running lights. The Mercedes-Benz does offers several optional safety features.


Each vehicle has a set of optional features that a driver can choose from, with more choices being available on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz. While both vehicles offer some of the same optional features, the optional interior features found in the Cadillac are voice recognition, HD radio, remote start, an auxiliary audio input jack, USB/iPod connection, a rearview camera, and heated front seats. For the Cadillac's exterior, drivers have the option of adding on a glass sunroof. The optional interior features on the Mercedes-Benz include satellite radio, cruise control, adaptive cruise control, a navigation system, a built-in hard drive, parking assistance, a rearview camera, heated front seats, keyless entry, seat memory (for the driver), power lumbar (for the driver), voice recognition, video display, and keyless ignition. For the Mercedes-Benz's exterior, drivers have the option of adding on either a panorama sunroof or a glass sunroof. While both vehicles have a plethora of features, the C250 has more luxury features.


The 2014 Cadillac doesn't offer any optional safety features, but the Mercedes-Benz offers a handful of them in addition to Parking Assist. Features like blind spot monitoring, LEX/HID/Xenon lights, intelligent high beams, a pre-collision safety system, OnStar and cornering lights. There's also an option to add paddle shifters onto the Mercedes-Benz. For audio, the 7 speaker Bose sound system equipped on the Cadillac can be upgraded to a 10 speaker system. While a 450-watt Harman Kardon sound system can be installed on the Mercedes Benz. Both vehicles live up to the hype of being quality luxury sedans.
