Are you thinking about getting a Satellite reception system from Dish Network or another satellite TV provider but are unclear about how a satellite dish works? Here is your answer.

A Satellite Dish is an antenna designed to accept the broadcast and is a main element of satellite TV providers, such as Dish Network. The normal satellite Dish of Dish Network and other providers consists of a parabolic (bowl-shaped) surface and a middle feed horn. A controller sends the received Radio or TV signal from the satellite through the horn, and the dish adjusts the signal into a rather narrow beam. The narrow beam is generated as the dish reflects energy from the feed horn. The dish antenna at the receiving (in which the client or the TV is situated ) end can only receive information like TV programs , it cannot spread information. The receiving dish works in the exact opposite technique of the Dish on the transmitter side. When a beam hits the rounded dish, the parabola shape reflects the radio signal inside onto a particular point, just like a curved in mirror focuses light onto a specific point. The curved dish focuses ...
... the incoming radio waves onto the feed horn.

The feed horn after that passes the signal into the receiving equipment. Ideally, there will be no obstructions, such as trees to interfere with the signal from the satellite to the Dish Network satellite dish. With no interference you receive a much clearer picture or Radio .

A few systems are planned to receive signals from more than one satellite. A new dish invention uses two or additional horns to get several satellite signals, from various bearings . As the beams from diverse satellites hit the curved dish, they bounce at several angles so that one beam hits one of the horns and another beam hits a different horn.

The essential component in the feed horn is the LNB (low noise block down converter) The LNB amplifies the radio signal bouncing off the dish and filters out the noise (radio signals not carrying programming). The LNB passes the amplified, filtered signal to the satellite TV receiver within the viewer's residence.

A cable named coax is running from the Dish Network satellite dish into the house and then links to the satellite TV receiver (black box) thus finishing the connection.
