As many of us today live with credit cards to fund our lives, we would more often than not find ourselves in debt that can get pretty hard to get rid of. With this comes with the wonders of consumer credit counseling services otherwise known as CCCS. Like all other services, this one has got its pros and cons.

The up side of this service is that you would be able to slowly but gradually eliminate your piled up debts. You would be free from those annoying calls that would bother your day and the warning letters that would flood your mail. Also, this service comes with a hundred per cent confidential counseling service which would help you spend within your means.

In addition to that, with the CCCS skillful abilities, they would be able to contact your creditor and lower your interest rates for you and in some cases knock it off completely which would save you a few thousand dollars. As this service is equipped with certified staff, they are well mannered and have got quality communication skills that would help you get an extension due dates with your creditor. Also, they would come up with a payment plan in which ...
... you would be allowed to pay a small sum each month until you clear up your debts. You would not only get the weight lifted off your shoulders, you would be able to avoid bankruptcy as well.

The downside of CCCS is that they would freeze your credit cards immediately and you wouldn't be able to use them in times of emergencies. Also, you if your assigned agent forgets or misses a monthly payment to your creditor, you would be faced with late fees and penalties as well which would cost you more money. In addition to that, many people try using CCCS as a scam to gain money. If you do this over the internet or on the phone instead of at an accredited company, you may be giving all your money to an unknown third party.

All in all, there are two sides to every story, so if you want to invest in CCCS, weigh it out on both sides and see if you really need it.
