Sony Ericsson has launched its first mobile phone, which would support Microsoft's upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system that will be available from October 6.

XPERIA X2 features fast syncing of mail and calendar as it comes with Microsoft Office Mobile documents. The new device features SlideView, with fast access to contacts, messages, media and enjoy panels like Skype, Mytopia, Google, games, CNN and Windows Live, along with an enhanced touch interface and new 3D signature panel.

It also features 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixel (WVGA) resolution and 65,536 colors. Further, it has an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper that features auto focus, Geo tagging, Image stabilizer and Video recording capabilities.

The XPERIA X2 measures 110 x 54 x 16 mm and weighs 115 grams. It supports Wi-Fi connectivity, A-GPS, Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) and frequency of GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100 and UMTS/HSPA 900/1900/2100. It features upto 110MB of internal memory and a microSD card with support for upto 16GB of additional storage space.
