One of the biggest mistakes I have seen hosts make before a lingerie party is to not know the physical size of the clients attending. When it comes to lingerie, people buy what they can see and try on. If you run a party without knowing the size of your clients you may find that nothing you have to offer will sell and they won't take a risk and buy from your catalogs.

The easiest sales at lingerie parties are ones that occur when the client falls in love with the item and they can take it home on the day. I have been to parties that have been a sales disaster simply because the host constantly tells a keen buyer they don't have anything in their size.

4. Give each person at least one Free piece of Lingerie

One of the easiest ways to encourage people to buy your lingerie is to give them a free piece that they can fall in love with. Most people who go to lingerie parties already accept that they will buy something but this quite often will not begin until they can try something on.

Lingerie items in most countries are not allowed to be resold once they are worn once. Here is the catch, if they try something on you are going to have to throw it away if they don't buy it so why not give it to them anyway. Clients will generally not buy anything until they know or feel comfortable that they know what size to buy in the lingerie. You can do all the measuring you want, it isn't till they try just one piece on, that they will buy anything.

Once a person is wearing the lingerie item and the group is cheering them on, they will then feel comfortable enough to buy others.

5. Provide Champagne and Cocktails with Finger Food

A lot of clients decide to have a lingerie party to celebrate a special occasion such as a hens party, a 21st birthday party or simply as a girls get together and because of this it is absolutely essential that you provide champagne and cocktails with the appropriate finger food.

The finger food should be as mess and spill free as possible. This is important for two reasons, the first is that people don't spill food on the lingerie and the second is so that people feel comfortable eating it. Always ensure that you check that your clients do not have a food allergy or intolerance to any of the food. There would be nothing more detrimental to your sales then to have a person collapse due to a food allergy.
