For a Japanese visa, you would need to submit a Japan visa application form along with the necessary documents at the CKGS Japan Visa Information & Application Centre in New Delhi. If your documents are in the required order for the type of visa that you wish to apply for, then your visa would get approved and you would receive a confirmation along with your passport. You must take a few factors into consideration though, as you apply for Japan visa in India.
The list of documents required for a visa for Japan from India is mostly subjective. It would vary with each country and from person to person. However, if you want a Japan visa from, say, India, China or Russia, you would need the following standard documents:
1. A Valid passport
2. Visa application form
3. Photographs
4. Travel itinerary
5. Bank certificate
6. NSO birth and marriage certificates
7. Income tax returns

Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Surinam, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and Uruguay
The period of stay granted at the time of the landing permission shall be the shortest period, which can be any among 15 days, 30 days or 90 days. That, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, is long enough to cover the purpose of the stay in Japan for foreign nationals.
