The True Meaning Of Wedding Ceremonies
Personally, weddings are occasions that I just love attending. It thrills me to see how a bride, usually smiling but teary-eyed, walks on the aisle, while her groom, usually fidgety, waits for her. I do not know if it is just me, but there is that wonderful feeling of mixed emotions in the air. Sometimes, you just cannot help but be teary-eyed, too.
We know that a wedding is part of a set of traditions that have been passed from one generation to another. It is a ceremony where, as the cliché goes, two people are made as one. Wedding ceremonies may differ from one culture to another, but if there is one thing that is universally accepted, that is, it is one of the special occasions being looked forward to.
While the wedding ceremony itself is considered as the most important part of the whole event, there are certain things that are taken into consideration, certain preparations that lead to it. Of course, these include the invitations, the reception, and so on. Moreover, stereotypical as it may sound, every girl must look her best during her wedding day. As you might have observed in many weddings, ...
... the wedding gown and wedding jewellery are given much importance and being looked forward to, not only by the bride and groom themselves, but also by the people that surround them.
Indeed, a wedding is not just a ceremony where two people get to say "I do" to each other. It is one special occasion that a girl, most especially, would like to cherish forever; hence, pictorials and video coverage are being done. It is an event that people want to look back time and time again. Thus, it is but natural that a bride should be the center of attraction in the entire event and a great way to achieve that is to choose the right gown, pieces of bridal jewellery, make up, or the whole look, for that matter.
Another attraction in weddings is the entourage, especially the bridesmaids. While being a bridesmaid means assisting the bride throughout the event, it also means looking good for the event. A bridesmaid also makes preparations such as their gown, shoes, and bridesmaid jewellery. I have been a bridesmaid myself and it is such a joy for a girl like me to look around jewellery shops and see which pieces of jewellery will suit my gown as well as the motif of the wedding that I will be attending.
You see, a wedding is also a bonding moment among the bride's and groom's family and friends. As a girl myself, I know how fun it is to discuss with my friends some "girl stuff" such as make up, shoes, and jewellery. The social aspect of a wedding where you get to meet new faces is another reason why it is worthy of all the preparations you have made and the time you have spent.
Of course, it is a given that we should not forget the true meaning of a wedding ceremony. To many, it is a sacred event more than anything else. It is also an important social practice where two people start to form the basic unit of the society, that is, the family. But together with the religious and political aspect of this special occasion is the spirit of fun, which every bride, groom, and their loved ones must not overlook. Amidst the preparations that can be stressful at times is the sense of fulfillment of sharing this event with the people you care about and turning it into a wonderful memory.
