Wet Shaving Vs Dry Shaving

Shaving means removal of beard or other body hair with a bladed material like razor. Shaving is the process which is done by both men and women. Men usually used shaving for removal of their beard on face and women for body hair and underarms. The different shaving products include mirror, blade kit, head wipes, tweezers, bowl, scissor and trimmer. The other products include shaving bags are used for packing all the tools used for shaving, shaving brush is used to apply soap on the face, and shaving cream is applied to prevent from razor burn, shaving machine can be manual or electric, shaving razor and shaving kit.

Types of Shaving:

Shaving can be done by different methods like safety razor or wet shaving and electric razor or dry shaving.

Wet Shaving:

Safety razor or wet shaving is traditional way of shaving. Wet shaving according to name keeps the skin wet. Although today there are very rare people who used the wet shaving as it takes too much time than dry shaving. But the wet shaving is much better than dry shaving in terms of skin related problems. People prefers dry shaving just because they have no too much time but giving few extra minutes and do wet shaving makes your looks better and secure. Before doing wet shaving, cream, soap or oil is applied on the face. Wet shaving is done with water, a razor blade to remove beard and brush for lather. The different razors available are double edge razor, injectors, straight razors, cartridge razors. Wet shaving can be done in either one pass or in two passes. The main advantage of wet shaving over dry shaving is it more closely to skin and so remove all hair.

Dry Shaving:

Electric razor or dry shaving is modern shaving technique. Dry shaving takes less time than wet shaving. As the name suggests electric razor needs electricity. The advantage of dry shaving is less cuts and also do not need water for shaving.

Side Effects of shaving:

After shave lotion is mainly used by many men after shaving to prevent from infection and also for soften the skin. Wet Shaving is much better than dry shaving in terms of cost and safety. Wet shaving also improves the quality of skin. With all such benefits there may have some side effects like while doing two passes shaving one can cut their skin and bleeding can be start. Other effects include razor burn and razor bumps. Razor burn is a condition caused due to improper shaving. The skin becomes red, having pimples on skin etc. Razor bumps is swelling due to cuts and sometime results infection on skin too.
