I recently saw a commercial on TV promoting a supplement called HealthyCell and was amazed at the amount of ingredients in the pill. It is loaded with antioxidants and plant-based nutrients that we alone cannot find in our daily diets. So I started to research antioxidants and free radicals and found some great info I would like to share with you.

Antioxidants have been proven to help slow the aging process, both inside and outside the human body. They help to reduce and eliminate the free radicals that our body produces. Unfortunately, our bodies as well as the environment we live in create more free radicals than our bodies alone can eliminate. We have all long known that antioxidant-rich foods and skin products can help us to battle the aging process more efficiently.

Free radicals are produced by the body to disintegrate cells. Some are produced through the body's metabolism and some may be produced when a person is ill. These free radicals go through a process ...
... called oxidation. When too many free radicals are produced in the body, it causes changes that can affect the mind and body. Cancer and other life-threatening illnesses can result.

Environmental conditions can also create more free radicals in the body. The ultraviolet radiation created from the sun, pollution in the air and water, and crowded city living all play a part in adding free radicals to our bodies. One way to reduce the free radicals is to avoid exposure to these elements. Using sunscreen for the ultraviolet rays may help some, but there is still the pollution that is unseen in the air or water.

Antioxidants work to protect the body from these damaging free radicals. As a person ages, his or her body will produce fewer antioxidants, and this can lead to the diseases that affect older people. To combat this decrease in antioxidant production, a person should eat a healthy diet rich in fruits with the skin attached and leafy green vegetables. Tea is also rich in antioxidant content.

Numerous supplements can be found if you do not think you are getting enough antioxidants through diet. However, you should watch the dosage as too much of certain vitamins can cause more harm than good. It is best to consult a doctor before taking too many supplements. Some of the supplements have been known to cause interactions with certain medications, both over-the-counter and prescription. Some supplements to consider are Vitamin A, B-12, E, and Folic Acid. Green tea extract contains both polyphenols and flavonols and is considered one of the best antioxidant supplements to take.

Food and supplements will take care of the free radicals on the inside of the body. The outside skin is also susceptible to damage from free radicals. To prevent aging skin you can look for creams and wrinkle reducers in the cosmetic aisle of your pharmacy or beauty supply store that contain antioxidants. Caution should be taken as these products are not always tested or regulated by the authorities. Read all labels thoroughly and know what you are using. Many of the products found on the store shelves are not worth your money.

Aging may be a part of life, but you can help delay its impact on you by making sure you are getting the correct amount of antioxidants in your diet and by taking HealthyCell . Free radicals do have a place in fighting off certain illnesses, but too many can cause cancer and other diseases. Antioxidants will help to keep the free radicals in check so you can live a longer, healthier life.
