2014-5 S-class Coupe Mercedes-benz Sizzles The Mercedes Line
Mercedes-Benz now has a new flagship vehicle. The car company was proud to officially unveil the exquisite 2015 S-Class Coupe during the highly attended Geneva Motor Car Show.
As expected, the S-class coupe shares much more, in addition to its name, with its well-known motor cousin, the just recently unveiled and also exquisite S-class sedan. The S-class Coupe is more swept back and has a more flowing body design than the S-class sedan. Car enthusiast of the S-class line will notice that the S-class Coupe has a much lower greenhouse but manages to present a taller beltline as well as a longer hood area and additional flared design in each wheel arch. From head to stern the Mercedes S-Class presents a daunting side profile with a two door look and 200 inches in sleek styled length. Even with the sportier look there is no question that you are looking at a regal member of the Mercedes-Benz line.
The Coupe's design in the front shares more of a resemblance to the S-class sedan but the same cannot be said for the rear end design features. This present an elegant but understated look that borrows its styling cues from ...
... its predecessors which also includes the trademark thin horizontal tail lamps. The trunk lid adds to the rear end features. This slightly discreet spoiler design, that is reminiscent of the same area design, may be recalled from the CLA class car.
The S-class Coupe's headlights are equipped with beautiful but functional forty-seven Swarovski crystals which are available at a slightly extra cost. The Coupe owner will find seventeen angular crystals consist of the platform which makes up the normal daytime running lamps and an additional thirty round crystals are engaged to form the turning signals for the Coupe.
The interior is as luxurious as the exterior. While the Coupe sports a two-door look it houses a four seat cockpit feature which compliments the frameless door design. The dashboard is similar to the S-class sedan design and is complimented with a very sporty, three spoke and flattened bottom steering wheel which is designed specifically for the coupe. Mercedes has continued its inclusion of its sleek camera based safety equipment, which is placed so it does not interfere with the design.
The main shared features with the S-class sedan is under the hood. The S500 model is actually over powered by a set of twin-turbocharged, 4.7-liter, V8 engine that can produce up to 455 horsepower. It provides the driver with over 516 lb. per foot of torque to each of the rear wheels controlled by a seven speed automatic reliable transmission. A much larger exhaust system line provides the Coupe with a much more gravelly growl than its slightly more benign cousin the S-class sedan.
Mercedes-Benz also has produced a V-12 powered version of the Coupe named the S600 with the possibility of maybe one additional AMG designed version to be included in the family line in later production runs.
A new inaugural feature in the S-Class Coupe design is the newest adaptation of the Mercedes Benz's MAGIC BODY CONTROL system, or MBC, which will enable the Coupe to power into turns as it leans into curves much in the same manner as a motorcycle. The MBC system is designed to reduce the lateral acceleration of the vehicle as it proceeds into a curve and is activated at speeds between 19 miles per hour to 119 miles per hour. The new Mercedes Benz flagship Coupe will available your showroom this coming summer. The Coupe's pricing data will be officially published and posted closer to the Coupe's on sale date but the price is expected to be well below $100,000.00 USD.
