When it comes to various sports the better the strong suits the better you are going to play. For example, in tennis it's really good to have strong arms, wrists, and legs. Obviously since a tennis ball is going to be whacked towards you at X MPH you are going to have to be able to hold on to the racket AND hit the ball which is coming at you with great velocity. Same thing goes with basketball - the better your jump - the better your play is going to be.

Of course this doesn't really go with all positions in basketball considering some positions aren't meant to "jump" but for positions like shooting guard or center - you HAVE to be able to jump up to either get the ball or get the ball in the net. If you want to improve your jump further, I would suggest looking online at some of the programs available. These basketball strength training programs are going to not only teach you HOW to jump higher, but they are going to teach you what types of exercises and routines you can do in order to jump better. Let's take a look at some of these objectives found in these programs and manuals:

- Complete workout chart showing ...
... you exactly how to get the maximum effectiveness from your workout. Get started quick, and get results every time you train.

- Complete training video library with videos showing you exactly how to do every exercise and stretch.

- Exact nutrition plan showing you exactly what you can eat to increase gains, and reduce injury. I will show you exactly what to eat to have your body in muscle building mode.

- One-on-one training is the only way to ensure that all your individual personal questions are answered so you can have 100% confidence in your training program. One-on-one training is provided via email.

The best thing about these guides is that you really can be any age or any sex. As long as your joints are in good conditions and you can follow directions well enough - you should be able to get a lot of benefits from this! I liked this guide in particular because they didn't just tell you to do this or do that. They told you why it was best for you, what it's going to do for you fitness wise, etc. Lastly, if you want some real one-on-one coaching; you can have this as well.

Some people like ebooks, others like guides. But if you want real one-on-one teaching or coaching daily - you can have this. You just need to find a program that offers this. It's usually going to be done through email. You will receive a set of exercises and maybe a daily, weekly or monthly meal plan among other things. You will then "report" back to your coach and let him know what exercises you finished, what you ate, etc. This is just an extra added benefit to you but it's also good if you rely on a strict regimen that you simply cannot get from an ebook. An ebook allows you to "slack". A coach does not!
