For a lot of us living in cities, having a garden remains an unfulfilled dream. Thanks to the advent of hydroponic towers though, this dream can be easily translated into a reality. The concept of vertical agriculture in specially made containers has been gaining ground throughout the world. Today a variety of plants can be grown thanks to these growing towers. In order to be successful with the plants that you want to grow using the system, you need to know certain aspects, which are discussed here.

Once you have decided to set up grow towers in your home, there are a few key factors that you need to consider. These include:-

• What are the plants that you want to grow?
• What is the quantity of plants that you want to grow?
• What is the kind of time that you can devote towards taking care of the growing towers?

One of the best things about hydroponic towers is that you get a lot of technologies to assist you. For example, these growing towers are equipped with hydroponics lighting which will ensure that the plants get optimum light for healthy growth. The full spectrum grow lights ensure ...
... quick growth of the plants. Similarly, you will also be provided with the right nutrient information from the company that supplies you the system. Remember, the best hydroponic suppliers will inevitably offer free consultations.

What about the quantity of plants?

After you have decided on the kind of plants that you want in the growing towers, the next question that arises as to what is the quantity of plants that one can grow in these grow towers. This would again depend on the size of the grow towers. While there are some which are of the size of a standard suitcase, there are also smaller systems available. The smaller ones can hold about 2-3 plants. The bigger ones can easily hold up to18-20 plants. Then there are large systems, which can hold even over 60 plants. However, such systems will need an entire room for themselves.

How long will it take for the plants to grow?

This is another question that is there on most people’s mind. The answer to this question is again not so straightforward, for it will once again depend on the kind of plant that you want to grow in the hydroponic towers. While some plants may be mature in about 50 odd days, there are some others which may need upwards of 70 days.
