The basis of occurance of grey hair is improper function of melanocytes that is present in the hair. As a result the melanin pigments are not available to the hair follicles in the growing phase to give hair its desired colour which is black, brown or golden.

Melanocytes are present between dermal and epidermal layer of the skin. By plucking off the hair which is actually epilation of the hair from connective tissue it does not lead to the growth of multiple grey strands in the same area.

Fact: Having said that one also knows that mind rules the body subconsciously so even if an individual is thinking eventually he will also see it as the eyes see what the mind knows.
