Hundreds of thousands of previously full time personnel who have been fired have sought after part-time jobs to pay the bills. Actually, according the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are almost two million additional part time personnel in the United States at the present than there were a year in the past. A lot of these individuals have been obligated to swap the security of a hefty benefits package for a spatula and a hair net. However, if you know everywhere to check, you may not have to swap those benefits.

If you are going to go to work part time, it is better to work at places that consider part-time workers as integral to their success. For example, at Starbucks part-time workers are the core of their business, and because of that they will be taken care of. says Bob Nelson, leader of Nelson Motivation, a benefits consulting organization.

Retailers tend to offer reasonable benefits packages. Some offer medicinal benefits, a 401(k) matching, profit-allocation and paid time off even to part time personnel. These grocery stores are also somewhat recession proof so many are employing and in some instances ...
... even increasing. If you are not into the food business, there are so many other stores to go like:

1. Barnes - Noble: Part-time personnel not only get a reduction on purchases, but they also acquire transportation benefits to help them pay for getting to and from their job. 2. IKEA: They are expanding its existence in America and bringing the European worker pride alongside for the trip. When you get a job working 20 hours a week at IKEA, you consequentially qualify for benefits with no any wait time (except for the 401k). Benefits include: medicinal, dental, vision; 401k after six months of being employed. Depending on the hours worked, you may receive paid time off for vacations.

3. Lowes: It looks like they would like for you to submit an application for employment there so you can build something together. They have flexible scheduling and there are no minimum hours per week or confines required for receiving benefits. Benefits include: medicinal, dental, vision; life and short-term disability insurance; 401(k) plan with corporation match; prorated paid time off, employee discounts.

4. REI: You can get discounts on great stuff and other items. Part-time and seasonal staff are qualified for medical coverage after just 30 days of work and they necessitate you work at least 20 hours per week. REI covers 60%.
