Mental Reflexes®

Physical reflexes equal an action performed by the body without conscious thought. It’s automatic – like sneezing – or the pinpointing of the pupils of the eye in light, or a reflexive knee jerk. These kinds of reflexes are responses to physical stimuli, such as pulling one’s hand away from a flame, or blinking. We are born with these, and cannot control them.

Another Set Of Reflexes

There’s been a lot written about the mental life of the individual. Articles and books on mental machinery, psychological inclinations, and reactions have abounded. Newer sciences have continued the historical discoveries within quantum physics and quantum mechanics.

What has not been accomplished is a systemization of the phenomena, which would promote the ease of practical application. I postulated that a connect-the-dot hypothesis would be of help by defining and grouping major behaviors under the term ‘mental reflexes,’ thus inviting utilization. I have found uses in various fields, to include education, ...
... high-level selling, and relationship counseling.

The Mental reflexes® are automatic, unconscious and respond to stimuli, like its’ cousin, the physical reflex. The mental reflex's mission was intended to protect us, but on an entirely different level than the physical reflex. Mental reflexes protect the mind from things that it discerns as a mistake – it is the minds' way of trying to ensure rightness. This system has demonstrably gone askew. It lends itself to false assumptions and thus, erroneous conclusions. Our lives are more complex now, and this built in software program has become a software virus.

Key Point: A Mental Reflex® defined is an automatic action that is performed without conscious awareness, in response to a stimulus. The stimuli for mental reflexes can be mental images, words, phrases, emotions, smells or actions —
and the uniquely individual perception of these things.

Where a small hammer tapped below one’s knee or pepper in a nose stimulates (triggers) physical reflexes, the mental reflex relies upon on key ideas, words, phrases, or emotions that act as a trigger. These data are just below the conscious level, in the subconscious, and are associative and reactive equating all similar triggered events to other events.

The Primary Mental Reflexes®

1. Earlier Occurrence Reflex.
2. Conditioned Response Reflex.
3. Analytic Systems Check Reflex.

Mental reflexes cast a contra-survival shadow compared to their pro-survival nature at its evolutionary inception. In the today situation, the prism of past upsets, perceived or actual, taints the conclusions stored, thus making us, and our decisions' puppets of a bygone era.

Shining A Spotlight On Mental Reflexes®

Shining a spotlight is the term I use when a person inspects the residual products of mental reflexes from a present time viewpoint. The spotlight used is critical-thinking skills, consciously focused to defuse any misunderstood, or emotionally confusing data stimulated and revivified by a fully triggered mental reflex.

Key Point: In essence, unknown incidences and consequences are being revealed to a fully conscious analytical mind, so they may be re-analyzed in the cold, disinfecting light of present time.

Key Point: To some degree, mental reflexes trump the power of choice – our free will. Mental Reflexes become an unseen partner in running our life.

Key Point: Present-day solutions need not to be tethered through the prism of any unknown past decisions.

Key Point: We are in search of our Comfort Zone.

A Thought-Software Virus

In my personal research, it helped to look at unwanted and unhealthy mental reflex results as a thought-software virus. When de-personalized in this way the search for tools to handle it were more easily navigated.
