Later at the end of December, 2008 the Russian community of Habbo, Habbo Russia was closed due to the low number of registered users.
Merger of the English Speaking communities:
In 2010 it was announced that the company was looking to merge all the English speaking communities to make a single large community, Habb.com. The merger of the communities started with the merger of the Habbo US and Habbo Canada in April, 2010. The Habbo Hotels has attracted lots of attention from the corporate world. Companies who build products especially for teenagers view the website as an important marketing destination. With its millions of users in the age group of 13 to 19 the website provides an important platform for other companies to connect to them. Such companies provide sponsorship to the website. There are also various organisations who teach teenagers, are important partners of the website.
