Here is a list of Blackjack tips and tactics that will serve you well. If you want to increase your odds of winning, and who doesn't, use these as basic ground rules.

Play at a low minimum bet table: 5% of your bankroll is around the maximum that you want to be betting per hand, so playing at a table with a minimum bet that exceeds that percentage is a mistake. The problem is that with a high minimum bet table you run the risk of loosing your bankroll before opportunities to win present themselves.

Never split 10s: Don't be tempted to play two hands, 20 is close to 21, so stand on 20 and you have greater odds of winning the hand!

Never split 5s, Always split 8s: a pair of 5s should never be split but a pair of 8s should always be split except when the dealer is showing a 10.

Always split Aces: getting a blackjack is the purpose of the game, so splitting aces gives you two chances to do just that.

Stand on 17; just stick with what you have, no matter what your feelings tell you. Remember that the dealer has to stand on 17, and the number of cards in the deck with how much they add up to, ...
... ensure that the chances of getting a 4 or less are much lower than the chances of getting a 5 or more.

The fewer decks used the better the odds are for the player; the largest increase in the house advantage is between one and two decks. But the house advantage does rise with every deck added. In a choice between a single deck and multi deck Blackjack game, always choose the single deck; in a choice between a 2 deck game and an 4 deck game, always go for the 2 deck. The lower the number of decks the better your odds are of winning.

Game rules vary from table to table, so the more favorable rules a table plays by the better it is for you. Some rules to look for are, double down after splitting pairs; multiple pair splitting; ace resplits; and the surrender rule.

Keep in mind, that your only opponent is the dealer. You are playing against the dealer and not the other players. So don't care about anyone else's hand, it's not your business and it will distract you from your game.

These basic Blackjack tactics will greatly improve your chances of winning. Just remember and practice them until they are second nature.
