Paper quilling as a hobby may be very interesting and exciting but there are many experienced paper crafters who are unaware of the proper method on how to quill paper. c.Curling tool: In order to curl the paper strips, you need to use a tool that you can handle easily. A slotted tool, corsage pin, needle quilling tool, round toothpick, hat pin can be used. In case you are using the needle tool, pins or the toothpick, you first need to curl the paper by rolling it around the central shaft. A quilling tool holds the quilling strip at one end and that will help you to make it curl while you rotate the handle on the tools.

Each type of curling tool has its share of advantages and disadvantages. The needle type tool produces a little centerat the coil which makes rolling and starting the curl a bit difficult. The slotted tool is useful for beginners. Slotted tools are a bit expensive but it is worth the investment if you want to learn how to quill paper fast and easily.
