Regardless of whether one's trying to lose weight or just going for a more ripped body, the kitchen will always play a huge role. There are two basics to losing weight effectively: diet and exercise. Well, three if you count sufficient rest to go along with it. However, these basics, which were proven to be effective, are shunned by most people because they're looking for a faster way to lose weight. This mentality is fatal to the weight-loss quest. If you find dieting a little too difficult, you don't have to do it. Just change a few things on the menu, and you're good to go.


One good way to lose weight is through spicy foods. This is due to two reasons. First, spicy foods are hot. They make you drink more water than usual during meals so you can wash the spiciness down as well as replenish the fluids that you lose from sweating.


Secondly, most spicy foods are prepared with garlic. Studies show that foods whose taste was enhanced by garlic tend to make people focus on the taste and prevent them from eating too much. The only downside seen here is the fact that you will be having a bit of a breath ...
... problem because of the garlic. As long as your bad breath doesn’t stay long after the garlic has left your system, you should be fine.


Another way to lose weight is by replacing a portion of your usual meal with more green stuff. For instance, if you normally have two pieces of chicken and peas on the side for a meal, try to replace one piece of chicken with more peas or with other veggies. This will take a lot of getting used to. You will be satisfied after each meal, but you will usually have cravings shortly after. Just keep at it, and your stomach will eventually stop saying "I'm hungry" every two hours.


If you just can't curb your cravings and you really need to snack, opt for healthier choices. Fruits do an excellent job in neutralizing your cravings. For simple cravings where you just need to pop something in your mouth, go for either sweet ones like mangoes and bananas. The sweetness of these fruits will give you the same satisfying sensation that you get when eating dessert, and will cause you to stop eating. For legitimate hunger, you can opt for fruits like apples.


For heavier meals, a good tip when you’re trying to lose weight and build muscle is turning your meal into three parts. One part will be protein, one part will be vegetable, and the third part will be grain. At its most basic, you’ll be eating a meal that involves chicken, cabbage, and rice. Be careful on overdoing it, though. Rice is the staple of Asian countries, and they have their share of obese people - mostly blamed on eating too much rice.


As you can see, you don't have to deprive yourself of eating to lose weight. Just go for healthier meals and you'll be fine. Combine that with exercise, and you'll be shedding off those pounds in no time. A good source of healthy benefits is the acai fruit, often coming in the form of acai berry powder.
