How did I a regular English Town Dweller first start seeing the creation and progression of Sufability you may ask? It started with my first day at work in Australia I had little familiarity with the importance of Surfing for the lives and in particular the recreational activities of coastal dwelling Australians. Throughout the process of introduction to our colleagues two empty desks were explained to be empty as "Snapper must be pumping. " Next day I met both the missing surfers, and my curiosity about Surfing began. Through living towards the Beach I began to see a lot more of the sport and in recent times have been able to experience some tremendous contests and performances by many of the worlds leading male and woman's surfers.

For over forty years We've worked in the Construction Industry within a professional capacity, and have been a pattern team member on numerous assignments specifically designed and constructed for people with disabilities and impairments. As such I've gained a personal and practical comprehensive knowledge of the difficulties experienced by people with disabilities regarding accessibility ...
... and elegance. My work and my creating are focused upon increasing awareness worldwide these difficulties and seeking improvements in equitable accessibility and inclusive communities for all people.

I am pleased to point out that better legislation worldwide has increased awareness plus the requirement for compliance with accessibility standards for equitable entry to buildings and open spaces and reduced the level of discrimination as a result. There still remains the requirement for further major improvement. Sport has been a encouraged contributor to the awareness to the fact that impairment of any kind shouldn't be a reason for non participation in every sports. The Paralympics over the many years has steadily grown in popularity with increasing participating amounts of Nations and Athletes for each event.

Surfers are yet to be as part of the Paralympics. It is my belief when the Winter Paralympics inclusion involving downhill skiing and sledging continues it might only be a matter of their time before the first surfing occasion is introduced.
