After the launch of Windows 8 by Microsoft, while on the one hand, many users are praising about the new multi-tasking features of the OS there on the other hand many are complaining of its excessive Internet slowdowns. Users are complaining that Internet networks don’t pick up speed on Windows 8.
Internet slowdown is the most heard complaint regarding Windows 8. However, the good news is that the issue can be resolved easily and user can self fix it without downloading any additional or paid software. If you are also using Windows 8 and not happy with your Internet speed, then this tutorial will help you understand the reasons of Internet slowdowns and the ways to optimize Internet network connections in Windows 8.
Reasons of Internet Slowdowns on Windows 8
There can be various reasons that cause slow internet connection with Windows 8 PCs, such as:
• Infected DNS cache: Invalid or perished DNS records is the most common reason of Internet slowdowns in Windows 8. Having perished or invalid DNS records means your system’s DNS cache is getting infected, which is known as “DNS spoofing” ...
... in technical terms. When your computer experiences DNS spoofing, it is likely to slow down the Internet speed significantly. Owing to this, websites don’t open easily or they hang in between or HTTP error messages get flashed. All these combine to give a non-friendly user experience to the users. To resolve this issue, you must clean the DNS cache in your system by removing incorrect and invalid DNS entries.
• Excessive Temporary Files: If too much temporary files get accumulated on your system then it becomes a burden on PC that hampers the Internet speed badly. The solution to this is to get rid of temporary files by deleting them on regular intervals.
Methods of resolving Internet Slowdown problems in Windows 8
1. Delete DNS Cache: By following the steps mentioned below in this guide, you can delete DNS cache in your system and increase the Internet connection speed:

• Next a window of “User Account Control” will open where you need to click on “Yes” button. This will allow Windows to open up “Command Prompt” for you.
• In the “Command Prompt” Windows, you need to type the command “IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS” and hit “Enter”
Once you are done with the above listed steps, DNS cache will get deleted. Once the deletion process is completed, close the “Command Prompt” window.

Windows 8 has been developed to enhance the User Interface (UI) experience of the OS. However, with a slow Internet connection, the complete user interface of the OS gets trodden. During a network connection slowdown, users usually blame the Internet speed but sometimes the issue is not with the speed but the accumulation of invalid DNS Cache and temporary files which make the system run slow. Therefore, you are advised to keep your cache clean, fix Windows registry errors and delete temporary files to optimize your PC for the best performance and Internet speed.
