The “land down under” has definitely gained prominence across the globe as one of the best sources of bottled pleasure called wine.

Because of its strategic geographic location in the Southern Hemisphere, harvest time in Australia is always six months earlier than the Northern Hemisphere. In our times, the country has established a solid reputation in the industry, even being named as the fifth largest wine producer in the world. Among its seven states, four states (namely New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia) are popular wine producers.

Not to mention that laws in the country are strict regarding the implementation of producing high quality wine. The government has made sure that regulations are in place and they made it clear that all companies are expected to comply. For example, when a product claims that it comes from a specific wine region, it is legally required that a minimum of 85% wine should be from that area. So when you see a bottle that says it comes from Barossa Valley wine region, you can have the assurance that it is truly from that location.

As with ...
... United States and other countries, Australia sticks to the tradition of labeling wine depending on its grape variety which is actually divided into five categories namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Semilon, and Shiraz.

In addition to earning the reputation of being the fifth wine producer, the country has also achieved the distinction of being the fourth biggest wine exporter across the globe. This is because Australia supplies wine to more than 100 international markets. Sellers and drinkers alike just love it for its distinct aroma and taste.

So in many ways, Australia has gained popularity not only as a country that is known for kangaroos and koala bears but for excellent-tasting wine. In fact, it is estimated that there are around 3,000 wineries in the area. What’s make it highly ideal for wine production is its climate and unique landscape.

Try walking into any wine store and you will find a lot of products are from the country.
