For puzzle lovers everywhere, the Rubik's Cube was (and still is) undoubtedly the biggest puzzle game of all time. Small in size but big on frustration, no one could resist getting their hands on one; that was the easy part! Taking hours, days and even weeks, the aim of this seemingly simple puzzle was to twist and turn the coloured squares until they were all aligned. So what was all the fuss about? Since it's launch in 1980, over 350 million Rubik's Cubes have been sold worldwide. So nothing could top it, right? Wrong. ... first attempt since 1983, this revolutionary revolving puzzle will certainly get your brain spinning. The Rubik's 360 consists of three clear plastic spheres which hold only one solution! There are six coloured balls deep inside the 3D puzzle. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get each one of these coloured balls perfectly positioned in their corresponding coloured dome! It sounds simple enough doesn't it?

Now for the science! The six coloured balls are all contained in the first of the three spheres. There is only one hole for these balls to escape through so patience is a virtue! Once you've tackled the first hole, the balls are released into the second sphere, this time with two holes. Yes you guessed it, your challenge now is to direct the balls through either of the two holes and they'll end up in the outer sphere. From here you must direct each ball individually, to it's own colour-coded holding dome. Once (or if) you conquer the ball rolling, simply twist the black dome to lock your winning combination in place!

Still can't see what all the fuss is about? Well, the Rubik's 360 wouldn't be 'Rubik's' if it didn't have another hidden element. Combining the classic Rubik's concept and the theory behind Newton and a falling apple, inventor Erno Rubik has created a modern masterpiece! "The Rubik's 360 is one of the most innovative and exciting puzzles we've developed since the Cube - adopting elements of my original design, challenging the solver to use concentration, skill and dexterity. But it's a more kinetic challenge, more physical, because gravity is involved" says the 64 year old engineer, sculptor and architect. So the additional piece to the puzzle is that the two inner spheres are weighted, constantly pulling back to their original position! Defy gravity and maybe then you can solve this 21st century conundrum!
