A plastic made from oil is a costly process because as oil price rise so of these plastic products which obviously effect business and consumers as well. Plastics have revolutionized the world and we can see that we have plastic things all around us like plastic bottles, containers, packaging, plastic toys and almost everything you just name it.
The problem with plastic is that it stays in our environment for centuries and its disposal is really a difficult task, so bioplastics can be taken as a nature saver in this sense because as it is made of biological substances such as corn oil, these type of plastics will be much better for the environment as they are biodegradable.
Conventional plastic is made up of harmful chemicals like Bisphenol (BPA), which is highly dangerous for human health and can disrupt our hormones. But bioplastics products made from biomass are healthy and leads to healthy environment.
Food industry is taking a keen interest in producing bioplastics as the containers and packaging made from this plastic will be technically healthy for environment as they have returned back to the Earth ...
... from which they were originally grown and the things made from this plastics will be not harmful for human health.
Bioplastic’s use have been increasing with the time as now we are producing things like cups, mugs, cars, food containers, packaging material from it. Rising oil costs and increased consumer demand for greener products are one of the main reasons that businessmen are taking interest in producing things from bioplastics and it can be seen as a great potential business for them. Many companies are introducing corn plastic products gradually.
Bioplastics don't emit toxic fumes like their oil-based counterparts and they are a nature-based alternative to petroleum-based plastics. Bioplastics don't require oil and the major plus point is that their manufacture releases fewer toxins and greenhouse gases. Recycling bioplastics is also easy to recycle as have the ability to biodegrade in mere months but it is also a debatable topic as bioplastic have different categories and recycling them have their own concerns.
Bioplastics can be seen as a godsend to save our mother nature. It would be a good idea to choose bioplastics as it will save us oil-which looks like will be rare in future and as well as if we want to save our environment then it is a good alternative to petroleum based plastics.
