Help Save Our Planet By Planting A Tree
Did you know that around the world, 3 to 6 billion trees are cut down every year. There is so much that is produced from trees and this means there is a big requirement in the marketplace. As an example, paper is utilized both in the home and workplace and timber is used in the building of homes. Alas, we need the items that the trees produce but we can do something about the depletion of our timberlands.
Trees are celebrated on Arbor Day and the aim of the celebration is that we need to plant trees at that time but this is not actually tackling the issue. Planting trees is not an activity that many individuals give any thought to. It would help, obviously, if everyone participated and planted a tree.
Would you believe that there are about 7 billion people on Earth? That is simply an estimate because you can't keep an exact count. However, if each of those 7 billion people went out and planted a tree every Arbor Day, we would be able to replace all the trees that were felled that year. We know in reality that this is not going to occur.
Thus, the answer is for those of you who care about the environment ...
... and want oxygen so you can live, plant a tree. I am not limiting this to planting trees on just one day each year. Once a month is a good goal or why not weekly? The reason is because someone needs to compensate for all of those are using our resources but don't want to plant a tree for whatever reason.
Are you aware that on Arbor Day, only about 8 and 15 million trees are planted? That still comes out to a 5 billion tree deficit every year. And annually, it simply keeps getting worse.
Whereas people should make the effort to plant trees, I have an idea that might solve this once and for all. What could really take care of this problem is if each and every wood company or tree farmer, by law, had to plant two saplings for each tree they chop down, so our tree issue wouldn't be an issue any longer.
However, until somebody has the presence of mind to make this a reality, we are left to take care of planting the trees ourselves. And it will not take that much for us to replace the tree population each year. For instance, if only 10% of the people in the world planted a tree every month, it would cover the amount of trees that are cut down every year. On average, that would be around 7 billion trees being planted every year. In effect, this gives us an additional one billion trees and will go a long way to restoring the levels that are truly required.
And so for anyone who wants to make a positive difference to our world, go plant a tree. Remember, we only need 10% of the world's population to commit to this. And you may be one of them.
