Worksheet Of Aap And Kejriwal On Its One Month Completion
Just a month’s completion of AAP’s courtship as the state government on Tuesday and the party members cherished that the membership in their party has crossed one crore. Additionally, the prominent English newspaper daily of the nation scrutinizes of what the AAP government has done over a month. The report sheet came with some initiatives delaying and few hitting the target.
Let’s get a glimpse of the review and know how much they have been successful in accomplishment of their promises.
The launch of Anti-graft helpline was to empower every citizen of the city that will allow every citizen to conduct the sting operation on the bribe seeking officials. It received about one lakh calls in the duration of just 20 days, but only, 1200 calls were attended as official sources claimed that 50% of these calls were not serious enough. Arvind Kejriwal wanted removal of five senior officials for low rate of arrests.
The other aspect is of water. Chief Minister of Delhi has talked about the removal of water scarcity with adequate supply ...
... of water to each household before assumption of office. Keeping his promise he provided up to 20kl of free water to each family but stapled a clause along with the promise. The clause states that increased tariff will be charged by 10 percent to those customers who are heavy users of water. The clause also confirmed that water will be provided only to metered connection households. Thus, lakhs of consumers who do not have metered connection cannot be benefited under this facility.
Kejriwal also announced a CAG audit of the discoms, forcing the Reliance and Tata Power utilities to move court for requesting the Delhi government officials to wait for the outcome of the case. The government of the state announced Rs 220 crore subsidies to slash tariff by 50% for consumption up to 400 units.
Jan Lokpal Bill, a new bill that is referred as the Citizen’s Ombudsman Bill which is an anti-corruption bill drafted by civil society in India, is put on hold. Earlier, Kejriwal promised that this bill would be passed on December 28, 2013. But still now, the bill stands pending. Now his government states the draft bill to be in its final stage and is ready to be put up for a discussion before the cabinet on January 28. Within mid-feb the bill is likely to be passed.
The state government is very particular about the issues related to women security and so Rakhi Birla, women and child development minister make it a point to make surprise visits at late night to check how much activities are being done for women safety. Though the government failed to organize ‘Mahila Suraksha Dal’ that was announced by CM to train martial arts to women.
With some projects being fulfilled, some are even on the pending note and some have not been yet opened. There is a mixed review on this one month journey of Kejriwal and Aam aadmi Party (AAP). Some appreciate it for its initiative to work on various sectors and some demotivate it for the delay. Now for a better review, civilians and media houses have to wait for quite some time more before analyzing anything as such.
JPC provides a great platform to the voters from all the constituencies of the country to choose political party which they think can stand for their expectations. The formation of government is a tedious job and more importantly the Political Parties of the country have to be very active and enthusiastic about the duty they have to carry out.
