It is a fact among professionals in the appropriate fields that some personalities are more conducive to areas such as academics. Genetics plays a large role in whether or not your kids are interested in school or may not be at all. What your children inevitably end up enjoying in life may have to do with academics or it may be something else entirely different. That is where you can try to work with your child based on your knowledge of his or her personality, likes and dislikes. One important thing that you always need to emphasize as they grow older is that completing high school is very important. Of course it may be helpful to let your child know that independent tutoring or help is available, too.

Parents will always notice personality traits in their kids that they will want to remove or at least change as they grow up. You might be surprised, or you may not be, but either way change is a constant and is something that you will have to deal with. In fact, we have heard parents state that sometimes they have a hard time liking their grown children even though they love them. If you suddenly realize your growing child has natural personality traits that present a challenge for you, we urge you to be accepting of it. The best way to handle it is to accept that it is happening and love them because they are your children which is really all you can do.

If you are a truly positive parent, and very concerned about your child at school, do your best to be as aware as possible of what is going on in their life and help them out if you can.
