Bjp And Congress Demands Somnath Bharti’s Immediate Resignation

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been constantly making headlines, sometimes with its speech and sometimes with its deeds. Recently, it again received lot of fierce criticism from the entire political society for the dharna it organized outside Rail Bhavan for two days, disrupting the entire city. Even after such criticism AAP is not ready to leave Somnath Bharti’s hand and have promised to back him under any situation.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress together have demanded strong action against Somnath Bharti for his alleged misbehavior with Ugandan women. The investigation of the case started after African women lodged an FIR against the law minister on charges of misbehaving with women at night. BJP have sharpened their knives to cut short Bharti and AAP. They have staged demonstrations against Bharti at 14 different spots on Friday in Delhi. They have demanded his immediate removal from his current post as Law Minister. Both Congress and BJP have decided to meet Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to request for Bharti’s removal. ... lieutenant governor to request for an inquiry against the law minister of the state and also to cover all the aspect of the case. BJP is ready to go house to house to campaign against AAP with a tagline ‘make people aware’ of how the AAP government befooled the citizens of Delhi.

The Ugandan national has reportedly identified Bharti in a television clip of the incident and is looking for fair judgment to be passed. Bharti has been charged on cases under section of molestation, rioting and outraging a woman’s modesty. The case has been shifted from SHO Malviya Nagar to a women sub-inspector, who has been made in-charge of the case. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has appointed a judicial committee headed by retired judge B L Garg to look into the whole incident.

The enquiry process of judiciary under the retired judge started on January 21. Three executive officers will assist Garg in the probe. On January 21 summons were issued and Bharti will be examined during the inquiry. Garg has been asked to complete the probe within 30 days. When asked Garg about the time period allotted he said that he is not sure how much time will it take and the time will depend on the nature of the evidence that is found. Delhi Commission of Women Rights is also looking into the matter after the five Ugandan women reached out to it for help. They summoned Bharti in the case and asked him to appear before the commission, but he did not show up. They are planning to send him another summon and if still he does not appear then they shall write to the Lt Governor and the Delhi Police Commissioner about it.

When AAP party leaders were asked about supporting Somnath Bharti, a senior party leader confirmed that they will help him as they are convinced with what Bharti has said in his defence and thus will not take any action against him until the judicial enquiry is not completed.
