Not a lot of people know what pin hole glasses are or how they can be used to improve both far sighted and near sighted problems. However, there are a lot of benefits to learning more about pin hole glasses.

These glasses, which are also known as "stenopeic glasses, have small openings in them. They are meant to improve upon a persons vision. This is done by the small little pinholes that are found within the glasses lenses. The openings will lessen the amount of light that is able to enter into the eyes (the same effect that you will get by making a fist and looking through its tiny opening). Whenever this occurs you will be able to see objects more clearly. It also helps that lights that come from outlying areas will be blocked out and thus light will only be able to enter into the middle part of your pupil. In turn, refractive error will be reduced while your eyesight will be improved.

Pin hole glasses will improve upon your eyesight ...
... regardless of the distance. These glasses will cost you less than a pair of prescription eyeglasses but they are going to cost you a little bit more than a pair of reading glasses. Whenever you put a pair of pin hole glasses on you will notice that there is very little glare or distortion. You will be able to wear them for a long time before you will ever need to do any type of maintenance upon them.

There are actually two different styles of pin hole glasses available. The first type are traditional and have wider lenses with a little bit of a curvature. You will be able to see the holes in the lenses of these glasses. These will also lessen the amount of ultraviolet light that reaches your eyes. The second type are modern and have a more attractive design. This type of pin hole glasses looks like a pair of sunglasses and will provide you with full protection from ultraviolet light. Their holes are not nearly as noticeable.
