Indian Jamdhani Silk Saree Online
Jamdhani or Jamdani is a hand-woven technique of Bengal that creates patterns of various colours and designs on cotton or silk sarees. Intending to improve the aesthetic appeal, it takes the form of cotton and gold thread weaving to create motifs of geometric patterns and floral designs in colourful hues. Jamdhani hand weaving is a necessary accompaniment for Bengal sarees. Based on the variations in the Jamdani weave, sarees can be termed as Daccai Jamdani, known for its colourful motifs, the Shantipur Jamdhani for its soft texture, the Tangail Jamdani for its traditional borders and the Dhonekai Jamdani for its colourful hues. So universal is the appeal, that today the Jamdhani is an inclusion in the making of some of the traditional varieties of cotton and silk handlooms, such as the Banaras, Venkatagiri, Uppada, Kanchipuram, Dharmavaram, and Mysore Sarees.
The bengal handloom cotton saree with green self checks all over accompanied by zari and plain borders and cream stripes and zari adorned pallu is a rich looking stunner that would suit a variety of occasions like parties, weddings, social functions, corporate events ...
... and festivals.
The light coffeee brown Jamdhani cotton saree with blue and brown weaving designs has thread work and zari line borders. Weaving designs on the elegant pallu make it a refreshing change for office, daily casual, social outings.
In natural condition the cotton fiber is a flat, twisted, ribbon-like filament. When immersed in caustic solution it swells out and takes on a round and a hair like appearance, and becomes plump instead of flat.
This brings about a softer feel, and with passing through a gas burner flame known as gassing, stray fibres are burnt causing better strength to the main fibre and overall shine or lustre. Nowadays silk is also jamdhani like cotton, improving its fibre qualities in terms of overall strength and lustre. The jamdhani saree is a beautiful process that is given to saree.
The fascinating green colour jamdhani silk Chanderi Saree has purple and maroon colour floral trees block printed. It has a brilliant multi-colour border on both sides with a blue and black floral design block printed on a green setting pallu. This very attractive creation would suit a variety of occasions from parties to casual outings.
