Stop Smoking For Good - Visualize Life After The Addiction
To stop smoking for good you need a clear image of your life after you cut out cigarettes. This image will be difficult to imagine at first. Every time that I looked back I could only picture myself with a cigarette in my mouth. There was no time in my memory where I was not smoking. The first thing I realised is that I needed to replace those memories with visions of success. This took me weeks to accomplish, but each day it got easier until the day I quit.
When I chose to stop smoking for good the first thing I did was threw my cigarettes and lighter away. I had to remove the temptation from in front of me. You need to do the same. You should also remove any ash trays from your house or porch. Get rid of anything that reminds you of smoking. In order to defeat the addiction you need to clean the slate and start fresh.
I found a few tricks to help me stop smoking for good. They are:
* When I felt like smoking, I would close my eyes and imagine myself without a cigarette.
* If the craving was a nasty one, I would take a big deep breath through my nostrils and let it out slowly.

I had a harder fight than most because I work around 18 other smokers. In order to get to the time clock I would have to walk through a room where everyone smokes. There was always a pack of cigarettes around and my co-workers were always willing to let me have one if I asked. I managed to quit with all those roadblocks and have convinced a few friends that it is possible to quit as well. It is an amazing feeling knowing that you are the inspiration to others who are looking to quit soon.
Kicking the habit does not have to be hard. There is a method that will help you quit without expensive nicotine replacement treatments that are proven to not be much more effective that stopping cold turkey. It will give you the power you need to overcome your addiction and live a life free of cigarettes and smoke.
