We Make The Change Happen: Siib!
The purpose of a post graduation program is to prepare students for their challenging roles as managers of the future. But, what are the duties expected out of a future manager? Is it about taking big decisions or is it about managing people? Well, the role of a manager in the present scenario is quite complicated to understand because of the heavy dose of multi tasking that is expected as a norm in most of the corporate sector set-ups. However, the most important task for a manager is to take responsible decisions that guarantee a holistic approach for the welfare of community and nature as the business develops.
Backed by this insight, the Symbiosis institutes take extra care to ensure that the students receive the right type of training that includes voluntary work community welfare projects. You may think that such community welfare training is not needed. But, contrary to popular misconception, this community welfare training is one of the biggest plus points of the MBA in Symbiosis. It keeps the students abreast with the ground realities and situations, gradually grooming their minds to take responsible decisions ...
... as future managers. In case of Symbiosis Institute of International Business when you are dealing with niche programs like the MBA in International Business and the MBA in Agribusiness, the need to help the students understand the importance of socially responsible decisions is even more.
As part of its community welfare initiative, SIIB encourages students to participate in the many projects operational under Kshitij and Prayatna. Through these associations, the future managers pursuing the coveted MBA in Symbiosis title get a chance to connect with the grass root levels and understand the real time situations of life. Backed by this experience, a good manager is expected to take socially responsible decisions that lead to the benefit of the community and its people.
Currently, the welfare projects include academic training of underprivileged children in different parts of Pune and other similar initiatives. As part of their association, students are involved in every stage including planning, proposing, convincing and executing. This brief association works well to give them a chance to practice their classroom learning in real time corporate scenario.
Being a part of the Symbiosis Institutes, SIIB has always taught its students to proactively facilitate the change rather than complaint about issues. The work done under its community welfare initiatives is a small but gradually growing effort of the students to bring about a positive change of transforming into socially responsible managers.
For all of you aspiring to get into SIIB, a life of wonderful opportunities surely awaits you. But, what’s more important is that you get to train under the finest of faculty in the best possible academic environment to emerge as the sought after socially responsible managers. After all, such personalities are what go into making future leaders in the country. http://www.siib.ac.in
